My family has been growing central New York’s tastiest sweet corn since 1960 at Early Bird Farm in Ithaca, NY. We hand-pick each ear of corn in the summer at the peak of its ripeness and sell it at our self-serve roadstand. As a third-generation farmer, I’ve cultivated a deep love of sweet corn, which inspired me to start Off The Cob Sweet Corn Tortilla Chips at just 22.
We launched in December 2012 after I won $20,000 from Babson College’s business plan competition. I then went on to raise $15,000 on Kickstarter and launch in 20 Whole Foods in New England. In June 2014, my partner, Molly, joined Off The Cob and updated our look.
In November 2014, Off The Cob was featured on the ABC hit show “Shark Tank.” Although we didn’t receive a deal from the Sharks, the feedback has been incredible! Since airing, we’ve expanded into more than 300 stores across the Northeast and Midwest, and have an online base of more than 4,000 customers (and growing).
We are dedicated to making simple and delicious all-natural snacks using real sweet corn and sustainable corn farming methods. Drop us a line and let us know what you think!
